Whether you are an advanced practitioner, someone who thinks they are 'not flexible' or somewhere in between, Ashley invites you to become present as you arrive into your Yoga practice.
Above all, Yoga is about the Breath. Being in the breath unfolds a vastness within you. You can get to know and then choose to dwell in this peace wherever you are and whensoever you wish.
Ashley began the practice of Ashtanga Yoga in 1999, preceded by the practice of meditation in 1998. A deep affinity with Tibetan Buddhism lead to Post-Secondary studies in Buddhism, and soon along the way she found the practice of Ashtanga Yoga.
Ashtanga has taught Ashley to approach Yoga asana (poses) from a foundation of breath and alignment. From there the path of Yoga has been one of continuous learning, growth, and deepening. She teaches Ashtanga, Hatha, Power/Vinyasa/Flow, Yin, Restorative, and Restorative Yoga with Hot Stones, as well as Mindfulness and Meditation.
Ashley holds a B.A. Honours in Asian Religions from Concordia University, Montreal. She is a Registered Psychotherapist and offers sessions in person and remotely online.
She has trained and studied Yoga in India with Saraswati Jois, Kino MacGregor and Tim Feldmann and in North America with Richard Freeman, Seane Corn, Mark Darby, the late Michael Stone, Kelly McGonigal and Rod Stryker among other superb teachers, and is certified by the Yoga Alliance. Most recently she has studied Yoga with Shiva Rea in Costa Rica.
Ashley's studies in Buddhism have allowed her the privilege to hold private audience with His Holiness the Dalai Lama on several occasions; she aspires and is honoured to share the Wisdom of His teachings. Ashley enjoyed one month in Dharamsala, India where His Holiness lives and had the great privilege of receiving His teachings there, a dream of hers fulfilled. She has studied Buddhism with Robert Thurman, PhD in New York.
Ashley is a Reiki Master and holds her Therapeutic Touch level III, both since 2003. Though she now prefers to practice energy medicine through the modalities of Applied Shamanism and Depth Hypnosis, studying extensively with Dr. Isa Gucciardi in New York and California since 2018.
Honoured to teach Yoga, Ashley invites you to find your breath in a safe, calm, energizing and encouraging environment.

"You totally hold the space! You have a lovely demeanor and nice sense of humour which makes me and others feel so comfortable. I like the way you offer options for different levels. I like your alignment cues and the sequencing feels right. In fact, I think I told about 5 people today what a great class I had! I know that in ashtanga the sun salutations go quickly. I have found that by slowing it down it really helps with breathing deeper/longer. You come across as kind and genuine.
You have a great teaching style"
